Level Design

The level design draws heavily from a futuristic, Tron-inspired aesthetic. The map features sleek, neon-lit environments, including holographic laser platforms that serve as both obstacles and tactical vantage points. The design centers around a towering spiral staircase that connects the map’s three distinct elevations, offering players multiple strategic approaches. Additional staircases are dispersed throughout the level, providing alternative routes to scale the vertical terrain.


This blueprint highlighted the level’s core mechanics: verticality, dynamic movement, and enemy engagement zones. Key elements like the spiral staircase, holographic platforms, and enemy spawn points were strategically placed to ensure a balance between challenge and flow. The map emphasized fluid player navigation while maintaining a sense of discovery through interconnected pathways.

In the final version, the paper map's vision came to life with enhanced visuals and interactive elements. The neon glow of the laser platforms contrasts with the darker background, creating a visually striking and immersive atmosphere. The spiral staircase acts as a focal point, drawing players to the map’s center, while the multi-elevation layout adds complexity to combat scenarios. Enemies spawn dynamically, adapting to the player’s movements, which keeps the gameplay engaging and unpredictable until the waves of enemies overpower the player.
