An astronaut aboard a space station has to reach the escape pods before life support goes offline, they must turn on the backup power to turn the exit doors back online.
When making the paper map for space escape, I wanted the player to have a good range of movement throughout the game having to return to other areas, but returning with the knowledge of the harzards that face them.
Also, keeping in mind that the player movement will revolve around the player grabbing the surfaces around them, I was tasked with adding grabbing points that fit the enviorment while also fostering comfortable player movement.
We had an idea that the player would have to return to the medical Bay to heal themselves if they came in contact with a laser or Security Drone, but ultimately when it came to playtesting, we decided to scrap it due to the idea adding too much to the player experience.

Space Escape is a VR exploration game in which you use only your hands to traverse around a broken space station and reach the escape pod. The fact that you have to push and pull yourself around the level leads to plenty of tense moments in which you need to reach a safe spot to hide while lasers pass you by.
This was my first big VR project, I was inspired by a VR game called Mission: ISS, a VR game on the Oculus Quest that lets anyone experience what it is like to be in the International Space Station.
